Collabro and The Hammond

14/02/19Collabro and The Hammond

The Hammond Chorale Choir, under the direction of Hammond Vice - Principal, Kevin Williams, recently sang with Britain’s Got Talent winners, Collabro, when the quartet performed at Chester’s Storyhouse Theatre.

Collabro have chosen a choir to perform with them at each location on their tour, and The Hammond choir was the only one chosen of an older age-group, due to their exceptionally high standard.

Collabro are the world’s most successful musical theatre group. They have performed across the globe to standing ovations, from the US, Japan and Canada. The Britain’s Got Talent winners have had a number 3 top ten albums, three sell-out tours with the fourth and biggest ever tour set for 2019.

After their performance with Collabro, all four of the group members, together with their Musical Director, Edward, commented on how professional Hammond Chorale all were and what a beautiful wall of sound it was behind them.

The Hammond, near Chester, offers talented musicians a stimulating, motivating and educational environment in which to develop skills and performance knowledge.

The school’s fully equipped music department includes six practice rooms, a state-of-the-art digital recording studio, digital and acoustic pianos, and an extensive range of instruments. We also have an iMac suite with midi keyboards linked to iMac computers, which run industry-leading software, including Sibelius and Logic Pro.

In addition to Storyhouse, the many choral groups and instrumentalists perform regular concerts at venues such as Chester Town Hall, Eaton Hall, Chester Cathedral and Liverpool Echo Arena.
