           NEW SIXTH FORM DRAMA COURSE AT

 

                              THE HAMMOND

To include:

BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting)

and 2 A levels.

 

Providing a strong partnership between the vocational and the academic, this course offers an ideal spring board for the next stage of your career, whether that be further drama training at drama school, a course at university or employment.

 The BTEC Level 3 Diploma will widen and enrich your experience of the theatre. It will give you the opportunity to encounter different theatrical forms. It will ensure you have a good understanding of how the business works. It will prepare you for the challenges of a professional training.

 The A level courses will broaden your academic development. Your chosen subjects will deepen your knowledge in other areas and underpin your preparation for university.

 Students completing this course will be in a strong position when applying for further training. Course members will experience a variety of processes, both practical and academic, emerging as enthusiastic and committed students of the performing arts.

 

 BTEC LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN PERFORMING ARTS (ACTING)

 The course has four core modules which are compulsory and will be spread over two years.

 

Core modules

Principles of Acting

Performance Workshop

Performing Arts Business

Performing to an Audience

 The course requires study of 8 further modules.

 Specialist Modules may include:-

 

Musical Theatre

Applying Acting Styles

Acting Auditions

Classical Theatre

Contemporary Theatre

Theatre in Education

Theatre for Children

Physical Theatre

Devising Plays

Voice for the Actor

Additional singing and dance classes plus one to one vocal training are included within this course.

 

Time per week:               12 hours

 

 

    

 

           New 6th Form Drama Course

A Level courses.

Students will choose 2 A levels.

Subjects currently on offer include:-

 Art

Biology

English Literature

Maths

Music

Music Technology

Theatre Studies.

History

 Subjects offered recently:-

 Business Studies

French

Geography

Home Economics

 

Further A Level subjects may be available, dependent upon demand.

 

Time per week      9 hours - 4 ½ per A level.

 

TOTAL HOURS

 

 6th Form Drama Course = 21 Hours

 

 Opportunities will also exist for extra vocal training and dance/movement classes.

Course entry requirements

 5 A* - C at GCSE, plus audition.

 Fees

 (Please note that scholarships and bursaries may be available.)

 £3,564.00 per term.
