The Professional Dance Course
The Professional Dance Course is designed for students 16 years old and upward. On the carefully structured course they will work towards the National Diploma in Professional Dance. The Trinity College London qualifications have been developed to ensure that students have the vocational competences required to enter the sector at graduate level. The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) have set the qualification at Level 6 and this is deemed to equate to a first degree.
The Dance and Drama Awards (DaDA) are scholarships funded by The Learning and Skills Council. They are awarded by schools to the students who display the most potential to succeed in the profession. Only students taking an approved Trinity College London qualification will be eligible to apply for an Award. These courses last for three years and are at National Diploma or National Certificate level. The awards offer greatly reduced tuition fees and access to an income-assessed support fund. For further information about these awards and eligibility, please visit the DaDA website at www.direct.gov.uk/danceanddrama.
Students have regular opportunities to perform throughout the year within school and public theatres. The provision of light, spacious studios, which all include pianos for our highly qualified team of accompanists, cannot fail to inspire all potential dancers. All our studios have been purpose-built with sprung flooring and incorporate stereo, TV and video equipment.
Professional Dance students have access to a range of A Levels, delivered by Hammond Staff. The sixth form co-ordinator works closely with both students and staff to monitor students and offer mentoring support.

Taudevin Dance Company
Taudevin was established in 2001 as a touring dance company with performances throughout Europe and the UK incorporating many dance environments. During their graduating year the students are given the opportunity of learning to be part of a creative team in a company situation. This valuable experience enables the students to take a further step into their professional life.
The Company performs a variety of dance styles including classical and musical theatre repertoire alongside specially commissioned works from experienced choreographers.
The school also operates an extensive community outreach programme to which Taudevin contributes. This programme has partnerships with local maintained / special needs schools. |
