Lessons are taken largely in Garden House, but use is also regularly made of The Hammond's excellent facilities for specialist teaching - Dance studios, Music department, Science labs, Home Economics kitchen and Drama studios, as well as the 400 seat theatre at the heart of our Performing Arts Centre.

For break times, The Prep has the benefit of its own walled garden with fantastic wooden adventure play area, which gives the school a sheltered yet open-air feel.

Jubilee

The children at The Hammond Preparatory School recently received a free pack of trees from The Woodland Trust.  Trees provide oxygen, lock up harmful carbon and trap pollutants to give us cleaner air and water; they also provide a fantastic habitat for wildlife.

All of the students have planted their own tree in a pot, which they will look after whilst they are at Hammond Prep.  When they move on to their next school. they will be able to take their sapling with them to either plant at home or 'somewhere special'.

The children have planted seeds, bulbs and plug plants in the garden and even the youngest of the children grow their own vegetables!

PREP NEWS!

The students at Hammond Preparatory School have been learning some
very useful new skills in their clubs after school; they have a wide range of
activities to choose from each week.

In 'Sewing Club', after learning the basic stitches, they are
now making 'Monster Cushions' complete with teeth and button
eyes!

In 'Cookery Club' they have made a Victoria Sandwich cake, scones,
flapjacks and a pineapple upside down cake.

Prep Cookery Club

The children really enjoy these clubs and learning how to sew and
cook will be very useful as they grow up and may even make them famous one day!
