The Hammond is delighted to be hosting this unique workshop with Jeremy Fisher and Dr. Gillyanne Kayes. Jeremy and Gillyanne have an international reputation as trainers in vocal technique, health and performance. authors of the bestselling, 'Singing and The Actor' 'Successful Singing Auditions' and the 'Singing Express' series, they train leading singers in the West End, in film and in recording studios around the world.
They are Voice coaches on The Voice 2017.
THE WORKSHOP WILL INCLUDE:
How your voice works; Essential warm-ups - the best techniques to get your voice ready to wrk every day; Clear speech and voice articulation for stage work; Changing your singing voice to suit different music styles; Great techniques for classical, choral AND contemporary singing styles; if there is time, a Q&A session and a little bit of beatboxing.
Gillyanne and Jeremy will also give a rare Masterclass, applying the techniques to fix vocal problems.

CDET Dance & Musical Theatre Careers Conference, October 2015
The Hammond was honoured and delighted to recently host the CDET Dance and Musical Theatre Conference. The day was a fantastic success, with many schools and colleges attending. Potential students enjoyed stunning performances, together with their parents, guardians and teachers.

THE HAMMOND PRIZEGIVING CEREMONIES 2015
We were delighted to welcome two fantastic prizegivers and speakers to our ceremonies this year. In the morning, Gymnast and Olympic medallist Beth Tweddle MBE presented the prizes to our Lower School students whilst in the afternoon, actor Steven Pinder gave out the prizes to our Seniors.

The Hammond was recently honoured to welcome Irek Mukhamedov, who travelled to Chester from Europe. Irek, a Patron of The Hammond, worked with Hammond students, particularly those performing in La Bayadere.

The 2015 Tour has performed at The Hammond Theatre, The Quays Theatre at The Lowry, Salford Quays and The Shaw theatre, London.

ADVENTURES IN DANCE...
Hammond students visited The Lowry Theatre, Salford, where they saw Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. This was a fantastic production, made even more special by the fact that no less than TWO ex Hammond Dance Students had roles in the show.
Tom Cummings is enjoying his first tour with Motion Pictures and is delighted to be in this production as it was the very show that inspired him to pursue a career in dance!
Robin Gladwin has had an extensive dance career,
particularly with Rambert Dance Company.
MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO HAMMOND SENIOR TEACHER, DAVID NEEDHAM, WHO HAS BEEN INVITED TO BECOME A PATRON OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF DANCE TEACHERS (NATD).
Congratulations also to Hammond Associate Dancer Troy Tipple who will play Charlie Bucket in the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane production of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.

OLYMPIC (and Dancing on Ice!) CHAMPION MEETS BOLSHOI LEGEND!
Olympic Gymnast Beth Tweddle visited The Hammond with her Partner from ITV's Dancing on Ice, Dan Whiston in order to receive some valuable choreography tuition from Hammond Dance Teacher Chrissie Eccleston-Touhy. While she was here, Beth met ex- Bolshoi Dancer and Patron of The Hammond Irek Mukhamedov, who was making one of his regular visits to the school to give Ballet workshops.

Chester Mystery Plays -
Chester Mystery Plays 2013 Director Peter Leslie Wild and writer Stephanie Dale visited The Hammond and worked with our students on a number of workshops. Artist Dai Owen drew some 'reportage' sketches of the workshops, effectively catching the feel and atmosphere of the event. Dai is recording the story of the 2013 Mystery Plays in this way, from the beginning through to the production, with special emphasis on recording the back stage and rehearsal work - the areas the public can't usually access. These sketches show the final discussion with Peter and Stephanie, and the students acting out a 'living statue' and child on a Chester Street.
