ADVENTURES IN DANCE...
Hammond students recently visited The Lowry Theatre, Salford, where they saw Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. This was a fantastic production, made even more special by the fact that no less than TWO ex Hammond Dance Students had roles in the show.
Tom Cummings is enjoying his first tour with Motion Pictures and is delighted to be in this production as it was the very show that inspired him to pursue a career in dance!
Robin Gladwin has had an extensive dance career,
particularly with Rambert Dance Company.
MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO HAMMOND SENIOR TEACHER, DAVID NEEDHAM, WHO HAS RECENTLY BEEN INVITED TO BECOME A PATRON OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF DANCE TEACHERS (NATD).
Congratulations also to Hammond Associate Dancer Troy Tipple who will play Charlie Bucket in the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane production of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.

Chester Mystery Plays -
Chester Mystery Plays 2013 Director Peter Leslie Wild and writer Stephanie Dale visited The Hammond and worked with our students on a number of workshops. Artist Dai Owen drew some 'reportage' sketches of the workshops, effectively catching the feel and atmosphere of the event. Dai is recording the story of the 2013 Mystery Plays in this way, from the beginning through to the production, with special emphasis on recording the back stage and rehearsal work - the areas the public can't usually access. These sketches show the final discussion with Peter and Stephanie, and the students acting out a 'living statue' and child on a Chester Street.
