The Level 6 Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre

Three year vocational qualification with emphasis on artistic, creative, technical and professional skills leading to the varied, high level career of a performing artist in musical theatre.

Trinity national Professional Diplomas are accepted by The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) at level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework for Further Education.



The course covers three main disciplines of singing, dance and acting with supporting professional studies.

There are four units spread over the three years:

Unit 1 - Technical skills for professional musical theatre  

  1. Singing
  2. Dance
  3. Acting


Unit 2 - Performance in professional musical theatre

Unit 3 - Additional professional skills and practice for musical theatre

  1. Transferable skills
  2. Employment
  3. Safe practice


Unit 4 - Integrated professional studies



All students are expected to achieve a high level of expertise in all three disciplines of singing, dance and acting and on entry to the course should have a good level of competency in at least two of these areas.
