A Message from The Head of School
As the newly appointed Head of School, I am delighted to welcome you to The Hammond School. I hope that this prospectus goes some way towards explaining the richness of life here and the range of opportunities we provide.
This is a very exciting time for The Hammond School, our new Performing Arts Centre contains purpose built dance studios, flexible performance space with full lighting rig and seating for over 400, drama studio, reception and catering areas.
Our new Music School will be completed in time for the start of the new School year in September 2009, and will include a recording studio, individual practice rooms and computer suite.
During the Summer break, we will also begin construction of four more new studios.

The Hammond School is a school with a difference. It gives opportunities to young people with a variety of talents and interests to develop a freedom of expression, self-discipline and a life-long love of learning. Our teachers and support staff form a dedicated, energetic and caring team who work to encourage the individual child’s learning style and make their time at school an enjoyable experience. Hammond pupils are recognised for their respect for others, good manners and self-confidence.
We encourage young people to achieve their full potential in academic studies alongside dance, drama or music training. We are recognised by the government through the Music and Dance Scheme as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ and have strong links with the local community.
The school values the relationship with parents and families.
I would encourage you to visit us to absorb the atmosphere and to find out more about this unique small school.
